always remember that these rules are only a guideline! if you feel something is unfair or deserves questioning, then by all means message a staff member! we are often willing to make exceptions to the rules.
out of character
STAFF listen to them! they are the backbone of the site, and their word always goes.
RESPECT it's the number one rule anywhere you go. from the highest ranking staff member to the newest novice. everyone deserves respect, and if you cannot handle dishing out respect then you may be asked to leave.
ACTIVITY/COMMUNITY out of character activity is just as important as in character. the other members in the cbox and ooc boards should be given as much devotion as your characters, so don't forget to make friends and plots!
TEMPER just because you cannot see someone's face is no excuse to bash, "yell" at, or fight with them. don't get your knickers in a twist, and try not to take anyone here too seriously! if you feel anger coming on, remember that you can always close the window.
LANGUAGE swearing is acceptable, chatspeak is not. if you have a problem with this, feel free to bring it up with a staff member.
EXPERIENCE roleplayers of all types are accepted here, however if you haven't read at least one of the warriors books, you may be asked to do so before roleplaying a clan cat. if you've read the book but are new to roleplaying, more experienced members will be more than willing to offer some lessons!
ACCOUNTS one account per member please! we find this keeps the site more organized, and characters easier to keep track of.
APPEARANCE signatures are completely encouraged! however, we ask they do not exceed 550 pixels wide, are not heavily animated, or have annoying colors. remember we want to keep our site pretty! avatars and graphics in other threads are also encouraged, and similar rules apply.
posting
WORD COUNT the minimum number of words in each in-character post should reach approximately 150 to 200 words. you don't need to count, but this should appear to be around two decent-sized paragraphs. you do not need to write a novel every time, but make a quality post with plenty of content that gives your roleplay partner something to reply to.
ACTIVITY is a really big deal! you must post an away thread if you won't be able to post for at least a week, or you may risk having your characters moved to the archives. on that note, new members must begin creating a character within a week of their joining or their account will be deleted.
BASICS do not get graphic, this site is considered PG-13, so think of a film with that rating when posting. if staff think your post contains content more graphic than acceptable, you will simply be messaged to change it. no powerplay, no god-modeling, no magic, fancy trinkets, first person, or future/present tense roleplaying. basically, the basics.
LANGUAGE swearing is still acceptable, chatspeak is still not.
LIQUID TIME is 100% acceptable, with no limits. however, we ask that every character is given equal attention, and every thread be kept active, so if staff feels that a thread or character has become neglected, expect a message concerning just that.
APPEARANCE should be kept simple! unless you are using a posting table, do not change font color. if you are using a posting table, keep it small and nice-looking. no obnoxious colors or fonts, please. we ask that you do not change the font face, and do ask that you use bold text for dialogue, and italic text for thoughts, dreams, or flashbacks.
characters
NAMING names of all types are acceptable here, though if staff feels skeptical they will not hesitate to ask for the reasoning behind said name. think as a mother naming her new-born when creating the prefix, thus nothing too ridiculous. in addition, prefixes may not be used more than once.
RARITIES albinos, male tri-colors, amputees, blind cats, deaf cats, mute cats, etc., etc. are usually fine, as this is an online site concerning an organized feral cat society, therefore already fairly unrealistic. however, we still ask that they be kept to a minimum (two or more cats with the same 'rarity' should not be in the same clan, for example).
BIOGRAPHIES are loosely relied on here, as we feel the roleplay itself generally more informative and important. biographies may be fairly brief, as long as they are an accurate and quality reference for your characters.
NO-NOS you may not create a cat with a mate, a pregnant queen, a kit, or a kittypet who joined the clan.
APPRENTICES AND MENTORS will be paired up often between roleplayers, but if no warriors step up to be a mentor then the leader will assign one.
KITS AND MATES try not to plan out mates beforehand, it is not as fun. two cats may only become mates after at least two threads roleplaying together, just as queens may not give birth until they've roleplayed two threads pregnant. kits do not need bios to be roleplayed, but when a litter becomes apprentices they will need bios before they begin training.
LIMIT there is no character limit, but staff will not hesitate to message a member guarding a certain character's activity, therefore do not create more cats than you can handle.
