Her bright blue eyes looked over the world as if it was never ending, her heart grew wide with love she did not know. It was the kind of love she was longing for, but she felt she couldn't reach it, across the rocks and the horizon where the birds flew free. Here she was, stuck to the earth instead of jumping up and flying away with those winged creatures flying overhead. There was no real reason that she stood on the cold rocks, she really just wanted to feel the wind in her fur and feel the adrenaline rush through her body and make her heart ache for the world before her.
She took a breath in and let the cold crisp air fill her lungs. Fawnstep closed her eyes and smiled in the wind as she sat down on the rocks and just listened. It was nice to get out every once in a while and do this after all she could think of doing was done. After the Clan was fed, after she patrolled, after everyone seemed generally happy she liked to come up here where other cats didn't really go just to look out on everything. It was so peaceful up here away from it all, though she loved her Clan she did enjoy just getting away every once in a while. As she sat alone in between the pines and the rocks she heard pawsteps crossing over the cold. She did not even try opening her eyes in case it was just her mind playing tricks on her.
There was a little confession in her heart as she sat above the rest, she was anxious. She was anxious for what was to come in the near future, she didn't know what but she knew it would be exciting for her. In her heart she was racing along these rocks instead of sitting here listening for the pawsteps that moved pebbles like the deep rumbles of the earth. Up here she didn't really know if they could see her but they had to be able to catch her scent. At this moment she wasn't really paying too much attention to who it was or if they were even of ForestClan like she probably should be, she just had the inclination to not worry to much about it. She obviously couldn't be in any danger since nothing had happened, she didn't seem to hear an abrupt stop or even a his. Right? Maybe she missed it and maybe she was even imagining things. Honestly who would want to come all the way out here? There wasn't much prey, it was colder, and the terrain was a little less than horrible. Fawnstep just twitched her ears to listen, I guess we'll just find out in a little bit.
[Sorry, brain fart -.-]

I S L E W H I S P E R and i realize the blame is on me
not often did the air seem to call to her in waves, branches waving in the air. the sun over head was nothing short of bright, it's light reflecting the flecks of green in her eyes. forestclan had prospered very well during green-leaf and would hopefully continue to do so until leaf-bare. the she-cat shivered just thinking about it, they could stock up enough prey as long as every cat worked their part, and the meat doesn't all go bad, she snorted to herself, eyes watching the forest movements. there had been strange scents flowing on the wind recently, suspicion seeping into the small caracal's heart as they rode on the day's wind.
for the most part, it was relatively alright to walk around on her own, there was very little to fear around their territory. though, even she would not often dare to run about on her own to often. but today was a different day, the shining sun spelled a gentle softness to air about the camp, and already she knew many were simply laying about to soak up the warmth. islewhisper, however, had decided to move around a bit. she had left a word with one of the warriors as well as with honeysong, just in case she would be missed. though, it wasn't likely. she would arrive back soon though.
her paws stumbled across the rocky pile, her feet tripping over the pebbles and knocking some over the edge to a far away drop. she chuckled a little, covering and denying her nerves at her own clumsiness. unfortunately, this wasn't unusual. but allowing her mind to drift off in such a way was. mouse-brain, she scolded herself, taking a deep breath in before continuing to climb up. many scents came through her nostrils, prey, trees, open air, and a very strong cat scent. one that would have spelled trouble if islewhisper had not already known who it was by the familiarity of it.
"fawnstep?" she mewed to herself, not really questioning the other she-cat in her mind, since she was away from camp as well. she took her time finishing the climb to the first of many rocky hills. she spotted the she-cat not far off, her white and tabby calico pelt standing out against the ever grayness of all the rocks. figuring it would be polite to say a hello, the she-cat walked toward her and did so, mummering a greeting above the wind's volume.

Fawnstep kept her ears pricked as she listened to her company climbing over the loose rock pile. Her eyes burdened to shut tighter a little as she heard pebbles sliding from the cold dark stones under the cat's paws. The tip of her nose felt a cold wind petting her pretty little pink nose and with it there was a very clear distinct scent that danced along with it. Very smoothly the wind lapped over and she could hear the sound of the pine tree branches aching behind her, their arms spread out wide and tired from the heavy load of many years of holding up all those needles. As she listened Fawnstep took the scent and sat with it for maybe a moment or two, she knew it was her deputy Islewhisper at this point but she had obviously not reached where she, Fawnstep, was on the ridged rocks so she simply sat, listening to the pine tree screech and moan as the wind tried to dance with its earthly friend.
She could feel something deep within her little bones as she listened to what seemed like a discussion between worlds. That something was growing inside her and it itched through her pelt, wanting to jump out and say, "Hey! I'm here!" The thing was she couldn't quite peg what exactly it was that she was getting in her mind right about now. It could have just been restlessness from sitting on this little ledge for a while or it could be something else but she knew for a fact she had to forget the feelings she was getting up here, above the world just for a little while. She knew for a fact what became of those cats that dreamed bigger and higher than their ears could reach. They always ended up trapped as that cat in the camp, the one that everyone expects to run off, the one who gets little respect, the one who is always being watched, and that cat that falls in "love" with some mystery tom who isn't apart of their Clan. Or even after their love they deny themselves and stick with some tom or she-cat they don't even want just so everyone goes back to the way things were. Fawnstep couldn't really decide whether she believed in such a thing called falling in love. She believed in love just fine, a cat can love anything. In fact, Fawnstep loved her Clan, the food in her belly, StarClan, living, having a warm place to sleep at night, her leader, her Clanmates and friends, and she could love anything; the only issue she had was falling in love with another. The way she always saw it was that you have certain aspects alike and you get such a strong feeling that you can call it love so it is said that you fell in love or have a soulmate. She wasn't too sure about that but one thing that she was definitely sure of was that she would not end up like one of those cats who is miserable for one of those reasons just because they had a dream that rose higher than the Clan walls.
A breath rose inside of her as she decided to let it all go. As she let out that warm sigh from her body she heard Islewhisper's pawsteps very clearly now. Her bright blue eyes opened kindly as she heard her name. Fawnstep flicked her whiskers a little and stood as she saw her deputy coming up to where she was sitting alone just a moment or two ago. With a smile she greeted Islewhisper warmly, "Hello Islewhisper," she said as the wind battered her white calico pelt, "What brings you all the way up here?" Of course she wasn't questioning the brown she-cat because she knew Islewhisper to be able to fend for herself but it was polite this way. She made sure her words did not escape of her thoughts before, in fact she had forced them away and just stood there on the ledge near the pines, now in the real world with Islewhisper.

I S L E W H I S P E R and i realize the blame is on me
trouble was brewing, in the woods and far off by the coast. the sands of time had never gotten their opportunities wrong. the idea itself of another band of cats appearing much have been something of a twist in a boring fairy tale, a joke to be played on the young ones who would never believe something like that to happen. the band itself though, who knew what was in store for them, perhaps they would move on by without stirring up any trouble or causing any un-wanted battles for territory. or perhaps even this would be an end. all were terrible possible outcomes, but even islewhisper had no answers, all she would tell was what blew on the wind and smacked her in the face.
and even then it was truly hard to tell what was going on. if she had to be certain of one thing, however, it would be that who ever they were and for whatever reason they were there, this other group of cats was big. the scents on the wind could easily determine such a thing, and for her, no matter if it was two or three, islewhisper would count them as a threat. in truth, she could only hope to be wrong, that perhaps it was just a few stray felines who wanted to try the ways of the wild. as hilarious as it sounded, the small caracal would not give in to such a demand, suspicion and caution were like second and third hides on her pelt.
she continued stepping forward to the femme feline in front of her, careful of the rocks which no doubt could scrape her pads and leave a nasty bruise or cut. she scowled for a moment, and then sat half a tail length or so from the calico she-cat who happened to be speaking to her. "i needed a walk, stretch my legs while everyone else is laying around camp," she blinked at the she-cat, comfortable for the moment, "and checking on those who are wandering around, such as yourself." she had never been much of a chatter box, small talk was often the least of her worries when there were always things that needed to be done around camp. but she would indulge slightly this time, just enough before leaving for another round of meandering. "what about you? just catching the fresh air?"
