Cherrypaw's long tail twitched excitedly as she padded quietly through the forest, energy coursing through it from the very tip down to the base. Her first training escapade! Oh, how she wished to impress her mentor with her hunting skills, oh how she wished to impress him with her fighting skills! Perhaps her targets had only ever been rocks and blades of grass for hunting and Squirrelpaw and other kits for fighting, but she was confident that the minimal experience she did have gave her an edge over the other apprentices. I'll have my warrior name in no time! Wouldn't that be something to taunt Yellowpaw and Squirrelpaw with? She wrinkled her nose at the thought, laughing to herself quietly.
Casting her pretty brown-green eyes on the cat walking beside her, she couldn't help but feel a certain awe. He was a pretty young warrior himself, and he already had an apprentice! He must be some kind of great warrior, then, right? Or at least a great hunter? She wondered if she was his first apprentice, and tried to think back to when she was a kit. Had he had another one...? She couldn't remember, but then again she really couldn't remember any of the apprentices from before her time either, as she never really paid attention to the lives of others as a little kit. She wondered when she would get her first apprentice to train.
"So, Wolfeye..." she meowed, suddenly stopping. Her curiosity had gotten the better of her. The energy that had been causing her tail to whip back and forth started spreading into the rest of her body, making her paws quiver and over-sized ears swivel. She sat down abruptly, putting most of her weight on her back paws to keep them still. "What are we going to do today?" She stared up at him expectantly. "Hunt?" She shifted her weight. "Fight?" She shifted it back. "Explore the rocky expanse?" She had never been there before, because cats told it was a dangerous place to be for a young apprentice.
Of course, this being their first training session, she realized that it was much more likely they were going to do something boring, like talk about hunting or talk about fighting or some such nonsense, when all she wanted was to do it. "Wolfeye?" she asked, without giving him much time to answer her. "Wolfeye?" she asked again, unable to contain herself. Boy, I'm turning into Squirrelpaw!

The dark grey tom with black stripes padded beside his new apprentice. He made sure she stayed on his right side so he can keep his one good eye on her, while his left ear was prickled and listening. She was his first apprentice and he felt proud about that fact. He was still a new warrior, but now he has Cherrypaw as his first apprentice. He had to make sure she was okay and no harm came to the disproportional she-cat. He smiled down at her. He thought maybe he was given Cherrypaw because of how disproportional she is that for now her training would be need to force around her movement and getting use to her body til she grows into it.
Wolfeye let out a chuckle at Cherrypaw's eagerness to get started. He sat down beside her and wrapped his tail around his paws. "I think we should start with hunting today. We should work on your stance and get it balanced out, that way no prey will hear you." He turned his one pale green eye and one sky blue eye to Cherrypaw and smiled, "Let us wait until you are a tad older and bigger before we go to the rocky expanse. You're my first apprentice and I want to make sure you are ready before we go there. But since you are my first apprentice we will be learning from each other."
Wolfeye stood up onto his paws a backed away a few paw steps. "Watch what I do and copy it." He crouched down onto his paws. He made sure to have all his weight evenly balanced, then he slowly moved forward with soft placed paws. Then, stood back up when he made his way back over to Cherrypaw. He nodded to her to give it a try.

Cherrypaw fidgeted a little bit more before imitating her mentor and wrapping her tail around her paws. It still rippled with energy, but at least it wasn't lashing all over the place now. Her focus quickly shifted to her mentor as he spoke, ears swiveling towards him at the first chuckle. His answer to her enthusiastic What are we going to do today? made her smile even broader than she already was.
"Hunting! Great!" She was good at hunting. It suited her. As he elaborated, though, she couldn't hide the arrogant smirk that crossed her features. Work on her stance? Please, there was nothing to work on, and she was sure of it! He said a few more things, including the fact that she was indeed his first apprentice. Even better! She sometimes felt a little bad for the apprentices who were assigned seasoned mentors who were too set in their ways for suggestions and fun. She could already tell that she and Wolfeye were going to get along.
"Hunting stance, got it." Suddenly her body went still. The energy hadn't completely disappeared; rather, it was being focused into this crucial moment in which she had to perfect her crouch. She didn't want to be that apprentice who had to be told everything four or five times. No, she planned on getting everything on the first try. She watched him, going through the familiar motions that her father had done for her countless times. It was her turn to try.
Okay, legs bent, body close to the ground. Don't get too close, now! Where did the weight belong? Oh, shoot, where did it belong? It must have been in the front, all the better for getting some forward momentum, right? Sure. Shift that weight to the front paws. Now move one front foot forward, letting the weight carry you- but whoa! Yes, good, bend your legs on impact to... to... to make it a softer step? Yeah, that's what Redear had told her, right?
She took a few more steps in this manner, keeping her weight up front and bending her knees with each front leg, but not taking notice of how her front paws steps were a bit louder than her back paws, which moved along soundlessly behind her. After about of minute of prowling around, she stopped and looked happily up at her mentor. "Did I do it right, Wolfeye?" Can we do some battle training now, Wolfeye?

Wolfeye let out a small smile as Cherrypaw mimicked him. He knew this energetic cat was going to be fun to mentor. She was full of energy and excitement that it gave Wolfeye some more energy. He was determined to be the best mentor to Cherrypaw.
Wolfeye right eye watched Cherrypaw extremely close. He noticed her putting more pressure on her fore paws making her make more sound then needed. He noticed the rest of her stance was almost perfect. She had her leg bent perfectly, her stomach was not touching the ground, ad wasn't moving to fast. He stood up and circle the young she-cat to see if the reason was indeed her not spreading the weight.
The dark grey tom stopped in front of Cherrypaw and sat down again. "That was very good, Cherrypaw. It was almost perfect. The one problem I see is you put to much pressure on your front paws. Therefor it is to loud. You want to be almost silent." He smiled proudly at the young she-cat. She was clearly going to be fast learner, which would make her a fine warrior in the future. That would also make her a warrior a lot quicker then he was. He took a few moon extra do to his moodiness. Oh how he use to be a bitter young tom. Wolfeye shook his head and cleared his mind of those thoughts. He needed to focus on Cherrypaw before giving her a reassuring smile.
"Now try it one more time, but spread the weight evenly. If you get it right this time you try it out on a piece of prey. After that I will teach you one practice battle move, sound good, Cherrypaw?" Wolfeye asked his apprentice. He had a feeling this would make her focus on the crouch to get the weight correct, but he also hoped it didn't make her to distracted with excitement .

Cherrypaw purred happily, proud of herself. She was glad that the little that her father had taught her about hunting was already coming in handy. Almost perfect, he had said! The word perfect echoed in her head, lighting a flame of determination in her eyes. Before she had just been excited about the improbable prospect of being so good, just as any apprentice would be, but Wolfeye's compliment was giving some legitimacy to her hopes. Now she had to prove to him that her quick learning in the hunting department wasn't just a lucky fluke.
Move your weight back, he said. Okay. I can do that. She dropped into her hunting crouch again, focused intently on how her weight was distributed. She pushed it back a little so that it wasn't so much on her front paws. Her back paws felt a little weird now, and as she stalked forward, she was unsure if it was right. It all just felt so strange. Her confidence started to fade a little, but as she concentrated the determination in her grew. She wanted to get it right so badly, so show Wolfeye how capable an apprentice she was. At this point, though, she honestly couldn't tell if she was doing it right.
Each step was quieter, it was true, but were they quiet enough? Her back feet weren't moving as quickly as she was used to, now that she had to account for the weight in the back, and bending her back legs with each step as well as her front. It took a lot of concentration, but as she stalked, it felt better. Each step felt a little bit more natural. It wasn't drastically different than what she had been doing all of these moons. She just hoped it was right, because if it was...
If it was, she would be able to try and catch her first piece of prey for Forestclan. If it was, she would learn some battle technique, on her very first training session. If it was, she would probably impress her mentor. If it was was, the possibility of making her clan extremely proud would feel more likely. If it was, if only it was.
Cherrypaw stopped and straightened her legs, casting a curious look at her mentor. She didn't say a word, the question was all in her eyes. How was that? she wondered. Did I do it well enough? she questioned. Am I going to be a great hunter some day? she hoped.

Wolfeye watched the young cat try at her second try at the simple stalk. He let out a small purr. She was more even then the last time. He could, also, sense she was uncomfortable and not use to having her weight distributed through out all her limbs. He remembered trying to stalk. He had problems, but that was because she put more weight on his blind side.
"That was much better, Cherrypaw!" Wolfeye praised his young apprentice. "That is the simplest crouches. When you are hunting different preys the crouch will change a bit. I know it is uncomfortable at the beginning, but as you practice it the crouch it becomes more natural."
The tom stood up from his sitting position and moved over to the apprentice. He let his tail lash out behind with joy. His first apprentice was a quick learner and a brilliant she-cat. He was defiantly going to make a very good warrior when her time to shine came. She was already an amazing apprentice, or at least Wolfeye thought so.
"Now do you want to try and collect your first piece of prey. Remember if you do not succeed the first time, don't become said. It took me five whole tries! I like to think of it was just cause I was trying to get use to hunting with one eye, but it really was I just didn't care at the time. I do no believe it will take you that long." Wolfeye commented on the she-cat. He raised his maw an tasted the air through his mouth. He scented a mouse downwind and a vole upwind. He looked at the Cherrypaw again."Tell me, what do you sense? Also, which one is the best to go after and why."
Wolfeye knew he didn't teach Cherrypaw which one would be best. He wanted to test her and see how much the younger cat knew. He had hopes this puzzles her and makes her really think.

Success? That was right? Cherrypaw grinned. Yeah, that was right! She listened carefully as her mentor explained that she would need to alter that crouch with different prey. Wow. Her father hadn't told her that! Immediately she tried to work it out in her head. What animal was this basic crouch most suited for? Mouse? Squirrel? Oh, hopefully not bird. She really didn't want to have to deal with a bird today!
Prey thoughts aside, she could tell that he was happy with her. She figured that she was doing as well as he could hope, and she hoped that she was impressing him. Her thoughts had drifted away from the clan and what they might think; instead, they were focused solely on Wolfeye. After all, he was the first to see her at work. These were special moments for her, a series of firsts that would create the foundation she would build her life on. She felt inclined to share the special-ness with someone. It was just too bad that Squirrelpaw wasn't there to see it. Then she could tease him about how she would have to provide for the whole family pretty soon.
Well, these special moments would have to be shared with Wolfeye, she deduced, by the virtue of his being the only other cat there.
So she listened carefully as he asked her what prey was in the area, and also which would be better to go after. She opened her mouth, breathing in closely. There was... something... she could practically taste the fur, but she couldn't tell exactly what animal it was. Closing her eyes in order to concentrate, she slowly picked through her memory. "This is mouse," Redear had said. Unlike most fathers, who would just bring the food to be eaten, he had encouraged her to take in the scent and fully appreciate it, first. "This is vole..." But they smelled the same. Whatever this mouse-vole creature was, it seemed to be all around her, coming from all directions. The word upwind echoed in her head, but who was upwind of whom?
"Um... I smell a mouse downwind of us... or maybe it's a vole. Ya know, it just might be rabbit..." "This is rabbit. Smell it." Similar to the mouse-vole, but bigger, meatier. No, what she was smelling was not rabbit, at least not a well-fed one. "And I smell the same thing somewhere else." She opened her eyes and looked at her mentor. "Am I supposed to keep downwind of the prey, so that I smell them but they can't smell me?" Was that how wind worked?
She opened her mouth to speak again, to correct her earlier statement. Wasn't she supposed to stay upwind or something? But just as she was about to say something, a smell hit the top of her mouth, and she froze mid-word. Now that was a smell she knew only too well, a smell that she hated. "This is a thrush." "Gross, daddy, that tastes awful." "It's important to feed your clan. This is a thrush." She wrinkled her nose and looked away, hoping that Wolfeye hadn't noticed.

The dark grey tom sat down yet again as he wrapped his tabby tail around his paws. He watched as his apprentice puzzled herself over the answer to his questions, which was a good sign. She was not just trying to guess the right answer, but actually trying to figure it out. Not that there was nothing wrong with guessing, but only if you really did not know the answer to the question. He smiled at Cherrypaw in encouragement.
Wolfeye smiled at her answer. "Upwind is a vole, remember that scent. A vole is like a mouse, but larger, not by much though. Then, downwind is a mouse. The second part to your question was cor-" He cut off at her grimace and became alert. He jumped onto his paws and stood next to Cherrypaw in a protective manner. Was there a fox or badger? Maybe Cloudclan! Had he missed the scent of that! How could he be so foolish to not sense any danger. He let out a small growl of frustration at himself as his fur bristled.
As he tasted the air again, he growl cut short into a puzzle expression, and then into chuckle. It was clear that now why she grimaced. He let his pelt smooth down as he relaxed. A thrush must have landed rear by. he remembered hearing about a kit who disliked the scent and bird. Cherrypaw must be that kit. Now was time for an important lesson her. She was going to have to do things you do not like doing. "Time to learn a very important lesson, Cherrypaw. You are going to have to do things you do not like to do, be it clear the elder den or for you catch a bird," Wolfeye informed his apprentice, he gave her a small smile, "So for your first hunting task will be to go for the thrush. Plus the simple hunting crouch works perfectly in this instant. I will follow behind you as you go after the thrush."
Wolfeye stood aside from Cherrypaw so she may move on forward to her first task. He gave her a small smile of encouragement. "Good luck."

Cherrypaw purred happily when Wolfeye told her that her original guess was right. She again tried to picture the situation in her mind: there she was, in a hunting crouch, and there was the vole. In this illustration, the wind was visible, flowing over the animal and into her face. Yeah, there was no way the thing could smell her, when her own scent, visible in her daydream, was drifting in the opposite direction.
Her purr was cut short by her mentor's startled response to her grimace. What was wrong? Had he scented something different? She opened her mouth to scent the air again, alarm bells ringing in her ears. As he was growling in frustration, she was searching for something that she had not found before. She smelled the vole again, but there must be a bigger animal! Ah, no, she couldn't get past that infernal bird smell! But she had to. How would she ever become a warrior if she couldn't smell an enemy just because a disgusting little thrush was in the way?
Having kept one eye on Wolfeye the entire time in case he signaled to her to run, she relaxed almost as soon as he did. False alarm. For good measure, she sniffed at the air once more. Still nothing. She couldn't tell if whatever he had smelled had moved out of the area or had never been there at all, but the good news was that they could continue as they were. She looked at the other cat expectantly, waiting to move on with the lesson.
He, however, was changing the subject. There would be a new lesson. A lesson is doing stuff unpleasant... uh oh. Oh no, please don't be, please don't be-! Thrush. She was going to have to hunt that thing. Her smile turned into a frown, and she looked away for a moment. It would be bad to refuse and embarrass herself, not to mention disappoint Wolfeye. But... did she really have to hunt a bird?
Without another word she took a few steps away from the older cat and dropped into a crouch. Center yourself. Equal weight on all paws. Not too far forward! Center yourself. She scented the air again. The thrush was upwind of her. Good. "Good luck," said Wolfeye. Good luck was all that he could offer her? If he really knew how she felt about these birds he should be offering her more than just a 'good luck'!
Cherrypaw took a step forward, then another, stalking slowly and carefully, placing her paws quietly, lining herself up with the scent that guided her. She couldn't see the bird yet; it had camouflaged itself in the leaf litter. The scent, however, was growing more powerful as she focused on it. There was one animal before her, and it was her job to catch it. Jump it, bite it, kill it.
As soon as her eyes found a smudge of brown that didn't quite match the leaves around it, she froze. Her muscles tightened up; she felt like she was growing bigger and bigger. She felt like if she didn't spring soon, she would give herself away! Before she could do something like aim or unsheathe her claws, her back paws kicked against the ground, sending her flying through the air towards her target.
Her claws came out only after the initial contact with the bird, which she hit pretty squarely in the chest with her head. Lying on the ground, she tried to blink away the ensuing headache while swiping in the direction the bird had been with her claws. Figuring that it had taken flight while she was recovering from the shock, she was shocked to feel her claws dig into feather and then flesh. The part she was holding onto was trying to move. It had more power than she was expecting from a prey animal, but she held on.
Cherrypaw tried to focus her eyes on the scene, but it was so confused and quick that she mostly missed out. Before she knew it, the animal had freed itself, both of her claws and of some flesh. She spun around, searching desperately until she saw the bird limping away, bleeding from the wing. Oh no. Oh no, no, no. It wasn't going to be able to fly, but her head still hurt so much that she didn't know what she was going to do about it. Oh no!

Wolfeye watched as he told her task. He noticed that she was unhappy with him. His heart heart a bit when he saw her smile slip to a frown. The tom was unhappy that he was making her do this, but he knew he had to stay strict. Plus this was one of the many things she was going to have to do that will not be pleasant. She had responsibilities now and was going to have to deal with the task she was giving. He was relived she did not argue with him.
As Cherrypaw headed towards the bird. He watched her stalk, her lining was straight and her paw steps were soft and quiet. Then, he turned around and head more to the left from her. He wanted to get a full view of her first hunt. This was just as exciting for him as it was for him. It is the first time she ever hunted a real live prey and this was his very first apprentice first hunt.
Wolfeye watched as Cherrypaw prepared her pounce. He saw her muscles tighten, but she didn't aim. "Mousebrain! You forgot to teach her to aim or how to pounce!" Wolfeye cursed himself. How could he not teach her that! He winced when he saw the small she-cat hit her head on the thrush chest. "That got to hurt! I hope she's not to mad." He thought to himself. His eyes widen as he saw her hang onto the thrush! He was proud at her for hanging onto the bird. Then, he watched the thrush get lose.
His eyes turned to Cherrypaw and saw her trying to locate the bird. He noticed that she was a tad dizzy. He turned back to the bird and saw as it's wing was bleeding. The poor creature would not make it far before dying. He quickly crouched down and crunched up his muscles. His eyes aimed a little past the bird, since it was trying to leave. He met the bird in mid-air. He bought the creature down with him. As he laned on his side, he rolled over to his paws and gave a killing bite.
He turned over to Cherrypaw with the thrush in his jaws. He padded over to her and dropped the bird at his feet. He looked up at the sky and sent a silent thank you to Starclan. His gaze turned to Cherrypaw with a worried glaze. "Are you okay, Cherrypaw? I'm sorry I made you go after the thrush. I should not have had you done that!" Wolfeye looked Cherrypaw over making sure there were no physical wounds on her.

Cherrypaw squinted as she tried to concentrate on the bird, turning toward it and stumbling a few steps forward. A desire to kill it swelled up in her, pushing her forward. She would finish what she had started! She would kill her first piece of prey! She would show Wolfeye what a could apprentice she was! All she had to do was overtake it, then finish the job. It wouldn't be that difficult-
Wolfeye got to it first. As she watched him skillfully grab the thrush out of the air and mercifully kill it, she lost all of her energy. Flopping to the ground, she closed her eyes. Tired. Still dizzy. Amazed. Her mentor had done that with such ease and such grace! Would she look like that one day when hunting mice or voles? She hoped so. Wolfeye sure was some cat.
He came over, looking worried. She pushed herself up into a sitting position, and took a few quick breaths. Her head was clearing, she didn't have any open cuts, she wasn't in a bad condition. I'm just a little winded. Don't worry about me, Wolfeye! She listened to his apology slightly confused. She tilted her head to the side, looked at him strangely.
"No, Wolfeye, it's okay. Like you said, I'll have to do it sometime. I'm not bleeding or anything, just a little winded. It's okay, I swear!" She jumped to her feet to prove her point, but a fresh wave of dizziness swept over her and she stumbled a bit to the side. "Why don't I just try again? I'll get better, I promise!"

Wolfeye watched Cherrypaw carefully. He wanted to make sure she was okay. He padded over to her and stood beside her. He pressed his side against her's to support. He looked at the small she-cat with a concern looked. He gently rested his tail on her shoulder. "Relax, young one. You took a nasy hit there. Give it time to calm, before we give it another go," Wolfeye purred, "So from what I saw is you need to aim before pouncing. When things are moving you will want to aim a bit farther then normal. So you land on it. Although I must say I was very proud of your first try at catching any prey yet alone a bird. If you had not hit your head."
Wolfeye let out a small warm purr. He knew with a little work she was going to be a downright amazing hunter. Maybe, it was because she was his apprentice, but he though she would be a great warrior and was going to shine. "Now you have two options. One, we head back to see the medicine cat or two, we give it another go as long as you feel better." He wanted to do whatever she wanted to do, because she did such an amazing job already. Cherrypaw was already ahead then most of the apprentices.
"I can honestly say I am very proud to have you as my apprentice," Wolfeye mewed, "You are a brilliant young apprentice, Cherrypaw. For a first apprentice I couldn't have had a better apprentice." .

Cherrypaw relaxed a little at her mentor's touch, and leaned into him, catching a few more short breaths. She felt his purr and started calming down as she listened to him talk. He was proud of her. Proud. Why? She hadn't caught the bird. She had failed him! For him to be proud of her, why... she must catch something. She had to justify his pride. She sensed the advice coming, a suggestion that they end training for the day. She didn't want to do that, though. She had to catch something!
She felt him purr again, and pulled away. "Now you have two options," he said, and she shook her head to clear it. "I'm going to catch something, Wolfeye. I won't go back to camp until I do." She listened to the praise without really processing it, so focused was she on the stalking technique and aim thing he had told her about. She opened her mouth before he was done talking, scenting the air.
Mouse. No, mouse-brain, it's vole! It's bigger than a mouse! Where was it? Oh, where was it? Well, the smell is really strong, and it's coming from... from... She turned to face into the wind, and the scent strengthened. The vole is upwind of me. Got it. She took a step away from her mentor, dropping into a crouch. "For a first apprentice I couldn't have had a better apprentice." Yeah, yeah. One foot in front of the other, crouch, don't touch the ground, quiet, steady.
Once again she spotted the prey. She thanked Starclan in her head for giving her the opportunity to redeem herself, for practically placing it in front of her. She hadn't had to walk until the sun went down looking for prey. Here it was. Right in front of her. Among the leaf litter. Nibbling on something. Here it was. Her chance to make Wolfeye proud.
She stopped with her front right paw in front of her, hovering above the ground. Placing it gently, she tensed her muscles, shifting her weight to her back feet. The vole froze, looked up, but did not look at her. It moved a step to the side, and she adjusted her body in accordance. She crouched lower. Its head swiveled around to look at her, there was a second of stillness, then she jumped.
She got lucky in guessing where the vole would run. Assuming that it would move once it saw her, she jumped farther than she thought she would have to. If it had darted off to either side, it would have been a lost bet. It had done just the right thing, at just the right time, like a sacrifice, a gift from Starclan. She landed right on it, sinking her claws into the warm, plump body. She bit at the back of its neck, but it continued to squirm.
Shoot, how did one go about killing these things so quickly? She tried rolling it over, pressing a claw into its soft stomach while she bit through the vulnerable throat. There. Dead. She stopped a moment and gave thanks to Starclan. They had given her so much more than food for the clan. They had given her a reason to turn around and look at Wolfeye, pride shining in her eyes.
"See? See, Wolfeye? I did it!"

Wolfeye watched as Cherrypaw thought over her options and quickly thought it over and made her choice. She quickly tasted the air and Wolfeye did the same. A vole filled his nostril. He watched as she dropped back into the hunter crouch. Cherrypaw crouch and stalk was much better then when she first started. He felt his tail curl in delight.
When Cherrypaw sprung at the vole she en farther then needed and felt himself fill with pride. He noticed she did it on purpose and suspected the creature would run at way. He let out a murrow of laughter as she tried figuring out how to kill the creature. When she turned to look at him with pride in her eye, Wolfeye felt his entire body swell with pride.
"I did!" Wolfeye purred as his one good eye shined with pride. "That was fantastic, Cherrypaw! How does it feel to catch your first piece of prey?" Wolfeye asked as he dug a hole to bury the vole and Thrush. His eyed the hole when he thought it was big enough for the thrush. He smiled at Cherrypaw. "Cherrypaw, we bury our prey so no predator can take our kill. If you bury your prey and then we can work on that fighting moves."

The adrenaline from the hunt was quickly wearing off, and as she listened to her mentor speak, looking exceptionally happy with her, her shoulders started to slouch, her legs started to feel tired. It had been a long day, and a wave of exhaustion was creeping over her as she stood. She perked up a little at the thought of battle training, but as she took a step forward and lifted her tail in excitement, her paw shook slightly.
Geez, it had been a long day.
"I feel great, Wolfeye," she purred, smiling. She closed her eyes to picture the hunt, the feeling, piecing the story together from bits of what had seemed to happen, pulling it altogether into a cool first hunt story. She did feel great.
Then the headache returned, pounding out any fading images of the memory. Her smile inverted into a frown, and she opened her eyes again to look at Wolfeye. "I want to learn to fight. Really! But my headache is back and I'm just exhausted." She listened to herself with surprise. Was she really saying that? Did it even make sense? She should be continuing with her training, becoming the best warrior to ever live! How could she show weakness at such a crucial time? To any other cat she didn't think that she would have been able to make that concession, but she felt safe talking to Wolfeye.
