AGE fifty-four moons
GENDER tom
RANK warrior
CLAN cloudclan
LOOKS this cloudclan warrior may look large at a single glance, but closer scrutiny would reveal that much of the tom's hulking mass can be attributed to a heavy, layered pelt rather than muscular bulk. undoubtedly he's still a big boy and knows entirely too well how to put that bulk of his to good use, but as it is - for a large part - fur crag retains a fair degree of agility and light-footedness. speaking of fur, that coat is rather luxurious by some standards. thick and long, the pelt is particularly thick at the nexk and shoulders, it feathers at the tail as well; it would be almost silky to the touch were it not for the rough and tumble life of a warrior. all throughout, the cat's colouration is a mixture of cream and russet tones broken up into a banded tabby pattern; here and there - articularly around his legs- the colour occasionally dulls to an almost gray shade. as for his eyes, they're a mish-mosh of greens and golds, often varying depending on the lighting although the gold is always more prevalent on the edges of his eyes, with the green domineering the center.
LIKES kits, noon-time naps, fishing, debating, story-telling, sunsets and sunrises
DISLIKES pessismists, extreme heat, slackers, impatience, nit-picks
FEARS being alone, old age, growing out of touch, loss of old friends
HOPES maybe foster some kits before he's too old
OVERALLamicable socialite;; looks can be deceiving. when one notes this hulking tom they may suspect a gruff-natured sort of brute to bear the physique, and such a sterotype couldn't be further from the truth for crag. to call crag anything but warm and inviting would be a heinous crime. the warrior loves company and would undoubtedly give the time of day to anyone who asked, it's simply an inherent part of his nature to seek out conversation wherever possible. it can make him something of a nuisance to cats preferring solitude or silence, but crag does know how not to make a nuisance of himself. he'll only talk to others who look like they'll welcome the idle chatter. sociable as he is, the tom manages to simultaneously know everyone whilst in fact knowing almost no one at all. yes, he'll know and understand a cat at face value, but few relationships of his in cloudclan go beyond mere acquaintanceship; as such he's rather lacking in companions with whom he shares a deeper connection. crag's not too particular about the kind of company he keeps either. kits, apprentices, warriors, and loners alike are all equally likely to be subjected to the chattering sooner or later. this shouldn't be taken for foolishness in the tom, however, as he knows full well not everyone out there seeks to be as amiable as he is.
methodical worker;; easily one of the most frustrating traits of crag is his complete and utter unwillingness to be rushed for anything. he'll get his work done, undoubtedly, but he'll get it done his way: slow, deliberate, and well planned. it seems oftentimes as though he simply can't bring himself to rush for anyone, and he's stubborn enough to ignore any pleas for him to perhaps pick up the pace. any complaints will be brushed off with a comment on how everyone's "always seemin' t'rush about". slow, or not, though, one cannot complain that he's being lazy as he always gets his work done in the end. his indecision has a more negative impact in situations requiring spur of the moment action, as he often isn't the sort to enjoy following impulse over careful consideration.
tranquil optimist;; slow to act but also slow to anger, the warrior has apparently infinite reserves of patience at his disposal. little manages to get under his skin, although one must be patient to enjoy almost any form of savoury company as he does. it helps, though, that he can almost always be seen with a mirthful gleam in his eyes, as though he's enjoying some hidden joke or has just aquired the most wonderful piece of news. he looks (or tries to look) on the bright side of most situations, seeing everything as a glass half full and finding himself exasperated without those negative souls who can only seem to see the dark. in a way he simply refuses to let anything keep him down, often preferring to look towards the future and advising against residing in the past or lamenting a situation of the present. as such it's hard to ever find him perturbed by anything as he's a slightly irksome habit of shrugging it off with some decision that things will work out sooner or later.
sum it up;; in simplest terms crag is a classic case of the gentle giant. he may not have foolish ideals, but he does prefer diplomacy over violence; thought over instinct. he likes to talk, and talk he will. the warrior takes all things in stride. age has taught him a thing or two about what makes for success and what doesn't. although he appears to perhaps have a bit of a lazy streak, fact of the matter is the tom will run at one tempo: his. an older warrior, the tom is painfully aware of his age but refuses to settle upon the idea that he might one day have to retire to the elder's den; as a result he can be a bit hard-headed on certain occasions, trying to convince himself that he can still do anything younger cats can.
PAST cragshatter's past isn't too terribly interesting or rife stories of scandal and glorious battle as are the histories of other cats. in fact, one might imply that he's rather.... average. he was the last-born kit in a litter of three to the two warriors shalestep and clovermoon. two loyal cloudclan warriors, no special history to them either. his siblings? pebblekit - a sister - and swankit - another sister, and a particularly frail one at that. needless to say from the start it was clear not-so-little cragkit would have to learn restraint find means of entertainment that didn't involve rough-housing as the lovely gals of the family were rarely interested in warrior romps. shalestep wasn't often around, a busy warrior who had eyes on a potential deputyship, he lacked the time for more than brief visits that consisted of little more than making sure his family was happy and healthy. not that cragkit much minded, he grew used to keeping the girls company and there were always the apprentices to play with should he ever want for an outlet for his energy. the apprentice-to-be was lucky, born in newleaf and raised in the time of leafgreen plenty, he never wanted for anything. many other kits couldn't say the same and there's little doubt that this anguish-lacking kithood contributed to cragshatter's positive nature.
six moons manage to pass by quickly, although perhaps not quite as quickly for a kit eager to begin his warrior training. cragpaw was apprenticed to a younger warrior, a somewhat ditzy she-cat by the name of featherstep. he was her first apprentice, she was the first cat for him to build a significant relationship with outside of his family unit. they both had their challenges, and it was here that crag would learn the virtue of patience. in all honesty, featherstep was ill-suited for the rigours of training a cat, the leader had assigned her an apprentice in the hopes that the experience might bolster her own maturity, but it was a hope doomed to fail. the she-cat was a good enough cat, she always meant well, but she simply lacked the skill or true intellect to teach another cat the necessary skills. in spite of these stumbling blocks, cragpaw endured and got by - he filled in the blanks where his mentor failed by observing the training of other apprentices and asking for outside assistance whenever it was needed. he might not have been the greatest of the apprentices, no outstanding skills in any one particular area, but he did eventually become a warrior after he helped to defend his clan from a duskclan raid.
